The Light of My Life

By Richardson P, CSC –

Readings: Mal 3: 1- 4, 4: 1- 6; Lk 1: 57- 66

Today the readings invite me to believe, to trust, and to have a tremendous joy in the day of the Lord. The first reading of today says to me clearly, that God the creator prepares a way for his people and his chosen ones to meet and find happiness in life.

At this stage of my life, I feel that, God is in a way preparing me through my formators, parents, companions, and friends to accompany me in my life on earth. They represent God’s true messengers and prophets to guide me in the way I should walk.

In today’s Gospel reading, the infancy narrative of the John the Baptist reminds me that, God is ever faithful, merciful, and rich in his promises. God has remembered and favoured the family of Zechariah with a child, in his old age. God has proven to me from this incident, that he never takes back his words or change his promises that he made in each one’s life. I believe that, God who has called me, is still at work in the world, to care for me and inspire me.

At times he helps me to understand through my life situations how I have to be a faithful, truthful, and dutiful servant in carrying out his mission on earth. As I am in the season of Advent, he prepares me to receive his Son as true witness and the light of my life.
