Seek Grace from God

Readings: Rom 8: 1 – 11; Lk: 13: 1 – 9

Today, the Gospel reading calls me to repent and return to God from my sinful thoughts and deeds. And the first reading also teaches me that if I do not repent and return to the Lord from my sinful life, I will have no life in Christ for sin brings death to my life.

The sins that I commit may not be very big, but very small and a simple ones, like my misbehaviour towards my own self and others. The times I made so many mistakes were the significant moments in my life where God wanted me to repent from certain behaviours. There were times I got angry with my friends and later I neglected and rejected them by my words and actions, rather than to approach and apologize quickly.

There were times I failed to be faithful to my works given to me but rather tried to escape it and do some other things. No matter what I have done in my past, this very day God calls me to repent by responding to the needs of the situations. Today, I bow my head to God to grant me the strength to fight the situations which tempt me to sinful behaviour. I ask God to pour out upon me the grace I need.
