Ranchi: St Charles Alumnus Urged to Work for Nation Building

Ranchi: St. Charles School, Hesag, Hatia celebrated its first alumni meet on Wednesday under the theme ‘Rewind and Relive’.

Established in 1997, the institution caters mostly to the needs of the tribal students. Almost 300 alumni relived the memories of their alma mater. The chief Guest of this auspicious event was Most Rev Theodore Mascarenhas SFX, the Auxiliary Bishop, Ranchi.

Sr. Jane Crasta, the Principal welcomed the gathering. Sr. Lucy, with rich memories of the past ten years, addressed the alumnis. Sr. Mary Kutty, Sr. Sabina and the Provincial Sr. Sebasti were present at the meet.

In his address, the Most Rev Mascarenhas urged the alumni to never allow religion, caste and creed to divide them. He appealed to the alumni to “Believe in God but do not use religion to divide. You are the present and future of the nation, this nation requires jobs, development and you need to work hard to solve the major problems of the nation which hinders its growth”.

He also thanked the sisters of St. Charles Borromeo for their wonderful and selfless services to society specially the poor and the marginalized. A skit ‘Vasudev Kutumbakam’ powerfully brought forth the theme of Unity and brotherhood. Mr. Atul proposed vote of thanks.
