CFM Asia Focuses on Imbibing Local Culture

Bangkok: The second day of the 12th Continental Conference of the Christian Family Movements (CFM) of Asia focused on the theme “See” or “Observe”.

The day began with the keynote speech by His Excellency Bishop Joseph Chusak Sirisut where he spoke on the topic “Integration of Religion and Local Culture: Core of Inter-religious Dialogue”.

His Excellency elaborated on the key principles of God’s love, the promotion of unity within the human race and that inculturation and evangelization go hand in hand. Following this, the participants had two simultaneous sessions wherein the first session was for the non-CFM countries to introduce CFM, its purpose, structure and methodology along with examples of CFM activities conducted across countries.

The second session was for countries with CFM where the groups reflected on the topic “Unity in Prayer and Action with ICCFM”.

The first half of the day concluded with Anita Lukose and Lukose Vallathurai, CFM Asia Presidents sharing the annual CFM/CFSM Asia Continental report. With the intent to “See” or “Observe” the delegates then travelled to Buddhist and Hindu temples to get exposure to different places of worship. The group concluded the day with a river cruise toward building the fellowship and unity of the CFM community.
