The liturgy of the day invites me to receive the Lord in the Eucharist with strong faith and trust in life. From today’s gospel, Jesus reminds me that he is the bread and joy of my salvation. “He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me and I live in him.”
These words of Jesus assure me that he is the source and the joy of my eternity. Jesus in every Eucharist offers his life on my behalf and renews my relationship with God. The receiving of the Lord in the Eucharist also requires my attentiveness, my silence, and my prayers of intercession to the Lord, who is truly present with me.
The message of Jesus is that he is my life; he is the inner truth of my existence, he is the very substance of eternal life. From this gospel, the Eucharistic Lord tells me that he is the source of my true inspiration and strength of my life on earth. As I walk along with him in this journey Jesus through his body and blood consoles me and supports me in all the situations of life. In every Eucharist Jesus embraces me to feel the warmth of his love and mercy in life. Above all, from today’s gospel, Jesus invites me to witness to the others that he is savior and redeemer of the universe.
