Value Relationships in the Family

Santhiya Philomone csc –

Readings: Ex 20:1-17; Mt 13: 18-23

Today’s first reading presents before us the commandments of God. The commands and responsive actions focus on relationships: the relationship between God and the people and the relationships expected within the community.

Those who observe the commandments bring forth life in abundance. They are like the seeds which fell on the good soil of the gospel parable. They allow the word of God to take root permanent root in their lives. Their hearts are tender towards the word of God. They are not hypocritical.

They are responsible, behave intelligently and values relationships in the family, community, and society. Forgiving smiles and reconciliation gestures are present in their relationships. They bear the fruit of God’s word and spirit in their lives. They show willingness to give 100 percent of their energy, effort, strength, time, and possessions. They serve the Lord and people with satisfaction, fulfilment and serenity.
