Surrender Unto Him

Readings: Ex 3: 13-20; Mt 11: 28-30

The liturgy of the day invites us to surrender ourselves to the Lord. In our lives, we may face a lot of struggles, sufferings, and challenges and we may not know what to do. Such challenging moments are there in everyone’s life. It is the time to seek God’s blessing. When we seek God, he will show a way to us. He is the way, the truth, and light. Only through him will we enjoy our life. He shows us the way we need to take or to do our responsibility which is required to solve them.

In the first reading, we see God giving hope to the people of Israel. He shows the way to come out of their slavery and mourning. He shows the promised land to them to rejoice and bear witness to him. He is merciful and compassionate to hear the cry of the people and help them solve the suffering and struggles in their life. He sends Moses to lead them to the promised land.

The Israelites surrender themselves to the Lord and constantly spend time in prayer in thanking God for the promised land. We are also invited to surrender ourselves to the Lord which involves surrendering our weakness, struggles, problems and ask God for his grace, blessings, and guidance. He is our compassionate God, and he will surely help us to love unconditionally.

The gospel reading invites us to be rooted in Christ. When we are emotionally down with problems, we need to seek the blessing of Christ. He is everything to us, like a counselor, healer, and comforter. We have everything in Christ, our savior. It is an invitation to all of us from Christ to surrender ourselves to him. He is holy and will help us to be holy in our life.
