In the words of  Sr. Annie Varghese SCC, the provincial superior of the Sisters of the Cross of Chavanod, “Sr.Angela during her 26 years of religious life was an exemplary and self-disciplined religious, a committed and faithful Superior, a loving and kind formator, a meticulous accountant as a community bursar, a friendly and dedicated teacher who was much loved by the children. She loved the Church much, after the example of Mother Claudine our Foundress and Fr. Peter Mermier our Founder and she had great passion for the Church and so she remained as a zealous Missionary”.

Sr.Prema Chowallur SCC in her introduction to funeral mass recalled Sr.Angela as an angel, “ Her name Angela suited her life and death. She lived like an angel and she died like an angel. Her last days in the hospital were days of calmness and silent suffering that our Lord Jesus shared with her. There was tranquillity, serenity,  harmony and grace on her face as she bid slowly and steadily good bye to us”.

The funeral mass was presided over by Fr. G.P Amalraj the deputy secretary of North East India Bishops Council (NEIRBC) at provincialate campus Kharghuli, Guwahati. During the homily he dwelt on the humanity and divinity of Jesus portrayed in the Bible ( John11.17-21).The conversation between Jesus and Martha and the subsequent events are assurances of our own divine life.

Many of the relatives of Sr.Angela could not be present for the funeral due to the peculiar context of Covid 19. “It is indeed an extremely  heartrending moment for me as I cannot be present for the funeral of my beloved sister.  She is the youngest member of our family, her nature was always  mild and calm. Though youngest she could make her  elders understand. She was curious and eager to serve God through humanity. She  worried more for the sufferings of others than herself. Unfortunately she left us too early for heavenly abode”, these are the words of Mrs.Margaret Moshahary one of the elder sisters of Sr.Angela.

The funeral of Sr.Angela took place on July 27th at Guwahati.
