SIGNIS India President Fr Stanely Elected SIGNIS Asia President

In a significant development within Catholic church media space, SIGNIS India President Fr Stanely Kozhichira was on Thursday elected President of SIGNIS Asia during the General Assembly held online on July 14, 2022 for the period from 2022-2026.

Soon after assuming the post, he said, “One of the things that I would like to do is to take SIGNIS Asia on a branding concept to reach out to the youngsters and media fraternity in Asia.”

SIGNIS Asia nominations were called for on January 11. Fr Stanley’s name was proposed by President of Signis Korea Mr Youngiun Lorenzo Lee and seconded by President of Japan Mr Utaru Tsuchiya.

The Former President of SIGNIS Asia Fr. Joseph Anucha, President virtually passed over the baton to him in the presence of all the members attending the SIGNIS Asia General Assembly.

Father Stanley Kozhichira is a diocesan priest from the Archdiocese of Delhi, holds a national record.  He has won the prestigious Limca World Record for his Theatrical Production ARS KE KRANTIBAI, the cine drama based on the life of the St John Mary Vianny in 2012 which was acted by priests of the archdiocese of Delhi.  He has conducted workshop in street theater for the past 22 years.  He has produced documentaries and Tele films, and documentaries for Doordarshan and many other productions.

”I am a street theater artist and hence I make the decision collectively. It is a moment of joy for me,” Fr Stanley added.

He thanked Fr Anucha, Former President for all the work done in the past, and all the other members of the SIGNIS Asia committee members.
