Are we eager to witness Christ in this world? Jesus forewarns his disciples that they would be arrested, persecuted, and imprisoned for his sake if they are readied to bear witness to him. At the same time, Jesus assures them that even the hair on their head will not perish and by their endurance, they will be saved.

The word of Jesus is still relevant even in this present context because the age of martyrs is not over. We are living in a time of uncertainty, especially for Christians all over the world.

Christians have been attacked and persecuted in many places and church leaders have been taken to custody of courts and even in prison because they stand and speak against injustice in the society. They believe in Christ who willingly shed his blood for Christ sake, and he calls us to do the same. That is the reason many are readied to go through all kinds of suffering and even willing to shed their blood for the sake of Christ.

God may not call us to go through the red martyrdom, but we are called to go through white martyrdom in our day-to-day life by loving, caring, forgiving, and showing comfort and compassion to the hopeless and the helpless. It is not an easy task to follow and witness Christ without his grace. That is the reason Jesus promises that he will be with us always even till the end of time.
