Seeking God’s Intervention in Our Life

Readings: Is 29:17-24; Mt 9:27-31

“Let it happen then, just as you believe.” Believing in Christ is believing in God. That is why Jesus said, “I am in the Father and the Father is in me, at least believe the work that I have done.” If we really believe and have faith in Jesus, God the Father will reward us.

In today’s readings the prophecy of prophet Isaiah is fulfilled in the gospel reading. It could fulfill only because of the blind men’s belief in Christ’s power and authority and believed in his ability of offering sight to them. They believed strongly and undoubtedly. Only their faith made them to be different and to see newness in their lives, so if we have faith in Jesus, God will reward us for what we believe.

Everything happened because of faith. Jesus says “let it be happened, as you believe.” Jesus knows the amount of faith that we have, and Father will not remain without answering our needs. The blind men were physically blind but spiritually they were strong and had faith in Jesus. If we have faith and believe, surely we too will experience God’s blessing. Once we experience it, we too will not keep silence; but share the light experienced in Jesus.

For the blind men getting sight back was a great joy and happy moment to share. The goodness that happened in them could not be hidden and therefore they took extra effort to go jout and share the joy. This advent season is the time to look back at what we have done as a Christian. Let us pray for God’s intervention in our life so that we may able to take extra effort to share the message and joy of Christ to the people.
