Reap Plenty of What Was Sown

Jesus invites everyone to take “risks”. He trained his apostles in every aspect, to be bold, generous, courageous, simple, loving, genuine, etc. He recognized his time to depart from them while wanting his disciples to serve the humanity as he did.

The story in the gospel appreciates the one who takes risks and is ready to make use of one’s gifts/talents received from the master. His servants found reward for their ‘risks’, moreover the master gave them plenty. The third servant, who was truthful and bold, spoke to his master about his feelings and what he had heard from others. Unfortunately, he failed to obey the words of his master, to nourish what he had received, and share with others. Often, I am content with the minimum in receiving and giving, and keep my faith barely alive.

Jesus ‘demands’ – to bring forth the fruits of gifts I have received. He invites to share, give away and sow, which will help me receive more than what I shared and reap plenty of what was sown. Yet, the first step is mine. It is to ‘risk’ and to remember always ‘the beginning is the hard part’.
