Ranchi: Over the last two years, the Archdiocese of Ranchi has been in the forefront for its diverse activities be it running of shelters for migrants, relief work for the poor affected by COVID-19, serving food outside hospitals, carrying relief to remote places, helping people with their medicines, etc.

Another area in which the archdiocese contributed much was the spiritual area as its online masses, its educational and cultural messages have reached millions of people with its YouTube channel which has 88,500 subscribers has gathered more than 12 million views in a short period after its launch in March 2020.

The Archdiocese has now launched on two more ambitious programmes. On 6th of August, on the occasion of the third anniversary of his installation as Archbishop of Ranchi, Archbishop Felix Toppo SJ inaugurated a state-of-the-art audio visual studio with all modern facilities and equipment for high quality video and audio recording. Speaking on the occasion, Bishop Theodore Mascarenhas thanked all the benefactors for their help in setting up the studio. Archbishop Felix pointed out that, “During COVID-19 and post COVID periods, because of social distancing norms and other restrictions, online services and electronic means have played a great part in our worship and our living and Education. The studio will be available to all religious congregations, parishes, schools, etc for a modest contribution towards the maintenance of the studio.”

Archbishop blessed the studio with a prayer and sprinkled Holy water. Fr. Sushil Toppo, Fr. Angelus Ekka and Fr. Anil Kujur have been laying out the video with the help of experts.

On 14th August, on the feast of Maximilian Kolbe and the eve of Indian Independence Day, the Ranchi Archdiocese launched its official website with its logo and its motto, ‘Fire Must Burn’. The Website will provide all information on the archdiocese as well as keep its readers updated about the latest developments of the Church in India and in the World. The site can be reached at www.ranchiarchdiocese.in and is gradually being further updated.

Archbishop Felix emphasised the importance of the media world and the website he said was a window to the world and the world’s window to the archdiocese. Bishop Theodore Mascarenhas thanked all those who have been involved in launching this venture. The site will be maintained by Anuj Topno and Topnotech and will be supervised and directed by Fr.
