Priests, Religious Join Youth to Draw and Paint for Peace and Mercy

Hyderabad: Priests, Religious from different parts of India and Youth join for fourteen days for a National Theology of Art Seminar conducted by CBCI Office for Social Communications at Telugu Regional CRI House, Jeevanjyothi, Begumpet, Hyderabad.

Most of the paintings they drew depicted Mercy and Peace as a witness in line with the theme of the plenary assembly of the CBCI. The participants were nourished at the Holy Eucharist everyday. Mohamad Badruddin and his assistant Mr. Kasim provided tasty food throughout the seminar.

On one day the youth were given a view to the city while priests and religious were tutored on the theology of the paintings and sculptures of the World famous one man collection, Salar Jung Museum of Hyderabad by Prof. Anand Gadapa. Prof. Gadapa and Prof. Nirmala Biluka of the Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University were resource persons during the seminar. Professor Biluka and Seven of the students of Fine Arts helped the participants to draw and paint as practicals. Fr. Varaprasad Marneni, the Secretary CBCI-OSC and Dr. Priya Martina Gomes facilitated the seminar.

With the blessings of Most Rev. Salvadore Lobo, the Bishop of Baruipur and CBCI-OSC National Chairman Bishop the final day evening was dedicated as Art Appreciation Day. Most Rev. Poola Anthony, the Bishop of Kurnool and the CBCI-OSC National Member Bishop has kindly accepted to grace the occasion as Chief Guest and give away the certificates of participation and awards to the participants. His motivational and inspirational speech captivated the participants. The students of Sri Thyagaraja Government College of Music and Dance performed astonishing Kathak dance to a thrilling conclusion.
