Prepare for the Coming of Jesus

Readings: Acts 13: 26-33; Jn 14: 1-6

Today we commemorate the Feast of our Lady of Fatima. This feast is one of the foundations of my devotion to praying the holy rosary. ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life,’ says Jesus in today’s gospel.

Today Jesus calls us to have trust in God and in him. True faith makes us to let go of our sufferings. The reading of the day reveals Jesus as a mediator between God and humanity.

In Jesus we find God and through Jesus we reach God. His death on the cross renewed our relationship with God, this is why we hear evidently in Jn 3;16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” If we remain in him with trust, then we will be with him in heaven at his second coming. Let us ask ourselves, do we remain with him?

We have an idea of heaven; it is our duty to create heaven here and now on earth through our daily life. In heaven, we experience love, peace, unity, joy, and acceptance. In living these values, let us prepare ourselves for the coming of Jesus by following the way Jesus showed us by and having him as truth and life.
