Do we think that the freedom to choose is a gift of God? The greatest gift that God has given to us is the gift of today and every day to make a choice. Every choice we make is very significant for us because it will become part of us. But most of the time we take for granted the choices we make without thinking about the Giver. “As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of man.”

Jesus reminded us by giving examples of the people who lived in the time of Noah and Lot. They were destroyed by flood and fire and Sulphur. God gives us many signs and wonders to know Him and to experience His blessings in each moment of our life. But if we choose to follow our own desires and dreams then we have to be prepared to pay the price for it.

We are given the freedom to choose our own life. But once we make a choice, we are responsible for it. The Gospel clearly says that whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will keep it. All of us will be judged individually according to the way how we live here on earth. Therefore, while we journey in life, we must never lose sight of heavenly things.

Instead, we must build up our relationship with God by abiding by his teaching. Therefore, we need to be alert and prepare ourselves when we chose anything in life so that our words and
deeds should be pleasing to God.
