Most of us are interested in reading story books, articles, writing essays, stories, listening to songs, watching movies, and games. How many of us would say that we are interested in reading Holy Bible, or listening to the word of God, or to follow his footsteps?

Most of us say that we believe in Jesus and go for Holy Mass every day or on Sundays. But how many of us are interested to listen to the word of God and understand it? What does our belief on Jesus depend on? Is it on the miracles that Jesus performs in our lives or do we truly understand his message and believe in him?

As we hear in the gospel of today, Jesus reveals Himself as ”Son of Man” and announces about his passion, death and resurrection that would take place. Though his disciples were with him and were astonished at God’s work, admiring everything Jesus did, listening to him, they did not understand the words about the cross or his death.

That is because, they did not show interest to understand what Jesus said, and they were afraid to admit that they were ignorant and did not want to learn the deeper meaning of Jesus` words. Today let us reflect upon this gospel and find out what is our interest and what Jesus wants us to do in our lives.
