Listen to the Newly-Minted Lenten Hymns Sung by Fr Reuben Tellis

The countdown has begun to Easter Sunday, the biggest festival on the Christian calendar. The start of Holy Week on Palm Sunday ushers in a series of preparations that will lead up to Easter. Holy Week is the sixth and final week of the fasting period of Lent.

The ensuing festival of Easter Sunday is accorded great liturgical significance because it marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave after his crucifixion on Good Friday.

Rev Fr Reuben Tellis, serving in the Archdiocese of Bombay, is the Parish Priest of Lourdes Church, Orlem, Malad, Mumbai.
