Today the church celebrates the feast of the Guardian Angels. As children of God, we feel the fraternal love towards the Almighty and ask favors and intercessions like a child. Like a father, the Almighty God grants our needs, fulfils our desires, and watches over us by entrusting his angels as guardians. Today’s gospel teaches meekness and humility.

The disciples were shocked to hear that the children were more valued compared to the experienced adults. They thought the children were fragile, tiny, and dependent but never understood that Jesus considered children as innocent, humble, genuine, adorable, and
merciful.

We overlook certain things or persons by comparing them with us; we may think that we are best among the rest. However, something great can be found in the little things of life that we may have overlooked. Everyone is important in this world. We have to learn to see ourselves in others. We get reflected in the way we relate with others. Let us not discriminate based on social status, caste, religion, race, gender, etc.

We are all children of God. God is the same and shares his fraternal and maternal love equally among us. All are equal and no one is great, except the heavenly Father. Let us implore him with acts of humility and love him like a child during this outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
