Let the Spirit Transform Us

Readings: Acts 16:11-15; Jn 15:26-16:4

The gospel reading of today encourages each one of us to be strong in witnessing Christ. We are invited to witness to our Lord through our words and deeds. The faith we hold on to is transmitted from the disciples of Jesus. Tradition teaches us to hold firmly to those practices of faith.

As time passes, the spirit of each person decreases. Disciples of Jesus witnessed the miracles of their master in their life. They touched him, lived with him and listened to him. The roots of their faith were deep. What we need is also the same. We need to listen and have to be touched by him in prayer and in our practices of faith. The experience of Jesus must also lead us to be strong witnesses to Christ.

Our actions must reflect the actions of Jesus. Our words should have the same sense of compassion, mercy, love etc. Jesus lived a life which reflected human values. He was guided by the Spirit. Let us experience the Spirit of God in our life and let the Spirit transform us and through us those around us.
