The Gospel reading of today speaks about forgiveness. Peter asked Jesus about forgiving a brother. The question is how often should we forgive a brother or sister? Jesus answered that forgiveness is unlimited. Forgiveness has no boundary.

However, in our day-to-day life, we realise that it is not easy to forgive those who have done wrong. But Jesus showed us the example of offering forgiveness. He brought peace by forgiving his enemies.

In our daily life, we need the grace of forgiveness. All are not very gifted to forgive but with the assistance of the Holy Spirit will be able to forgive our trespasses and forgive others. Jesus, the one who says “I will be with you till the end of life” continues to reign in our hearts through the indwelling Spirit. Let’s pray for people who struggle to forgive, that the Spirit of the Lord may intervene in their lives to help them to let go bitterness and seek reconciliation with one another.
