Readings: Acts 13:26-33; Jn 14:1-6

Today the liturgy of the word invites us to reflect on our daily Christian practices. Many times, we become like daily church goer but fail to participate actively in prayer and in the Eucharist.

In first reading, St. Paul describes the entire life and the purpose of Jesus. He also mentions about the people who were faithful to their daily Jewish practices but failed to recognize the messenger who was sent by God. In a way St. Paul sums up the entire history of Israel.

In our life too many times we have practiced the rituals of the church very faithfully but many times we have failed to realize Jesus and his presence. It is not enough for us to repeat what is written in the Bible. We must discover an actual mystery of Christ. The church repeats the real truth of Jesus and real salvation to us. In what way shall I practice or participate in this great and divine work? Jesus says, ‘I am the way the truth and the life.’

Because he lived life and showed the way to truth and life. We know through Jesus’ life that he stood for the truth and lived his life in accordance with the will of God and faced many difficulties and struggles. But he never failed in leaning to the will of God. Jesus is placing himself as a model and as the way, truth, and life. So, everything that we are looking for can be found in him. Even all our questions can be answered by him. Therefore, let us turn back to him and find the way, the truth, and the life.
