Draw Strength from Christ

Readings of the day invite us to reflect on the virtue of fidelity. We see God’s fidelity towards Jerusalem and his people in the first reading and in the Gospel we see the instruction to be
committed and faithful to each other in marital relationship.

Today’s readings speak to us about the sanctity of marriage and celibate life and the importance and need of fidelity in times of trouble, difficulties, and times of difficulties from within and
without.

Today we are in a world of infidelity and brokenness in every sphere of our life. But in this hazy realities God tells us to have hope and fidelity to our words, promises, and the vows to
God that we made.

Being faithful is tough, demands a constant struggle against the evil, and this enticing world is always alluring us to fall. We have seen ample instances of infidelity in our own families, in marital
life, in religious life and priesthood which have led to sufferings and chaos in one’s own life, in society and in the church.

Therefore, readings of the day make us aware of our commitment and promises and asks us: How am I practicing my commitments? So let us draw strength from the perfect example of fidelity, Jesus Christ, who remained faithful to his promise and
to Father’s will to the very end.
