Do Good for the Mission of Christ

Readings: Rev 7:2-14; 1 Jn 3:1-3; Mt 5:1-12

Today we celebrate the feast of All Saints. The first reading speaks to me about the Salvation of God where I shall be one day with God with joy and happiness. In the second reading, St. John reminds me that I am a child of the God who is all powerful and filled with love, and I shall see him face to face when the time comes. In the gospel reading, Jesus tells me that in order to attain Salvation, to see him face to face as he really is, and to experience God with joy and happiness, I must do good while I live here on earth and bring forth changes in the lives of many people.

Today, as the mother church celebrates the feast of All Saints, I am reminded of those people who have done great things in life while they lived here on earth, especially the Saints who sacrificed and lost their lives for the good of the people, the church and the Kingdom of God.

Similarly, many people who have contributed to the growth of people and that of the church are now with God in spirit with endless joy and happiness. So, today the liturgy of the word invites me to do good for the mission of Christ that is entrusted to me, so that one day I shall be with God with much joy and happiness.
