With Mary through the course of a Century and Beyond … was the theme in that guided FMA India during the 3 Years of preparation for the Centenary of the arrival of the pioneer FMA Missionaries to India (1922-2022). A Mother’s Tender Touch is an apt realization to raise our thanks to God the Father Almighty for Mother Mary’s constant and guiding presence in the life of each one of us and in our mission.
Sr. Alice Chacko received the inspiration for the book as one day she was sitting in front of the Blessed Sacrament during her personal prayer, as she gazed at the beautiful statue of Mary Help of Christians in the community chapel, Mother Mary’s lovely smile and her tender loving face held her attention.
A Mother’s Tender Touch -187 Amazing Marian Stories from FMA India brings to every reader, the loving presence of Mary that a number of Salesian Sisters and a few candidates from our formation houses have experienced.
The book consists of two parts: Par 1 Don Bosco’s Living Monument of Gratitude To Mary Help of Christians: FMA India with Mary through the course of a Century and Beyond and Part 2: Mother Mary’s Tender Touch in the lives of Salesian Sisters in India.
The book was released by Most Rev. Nirmol Gomes SD, Bishop of Krishnanagar on 31 October 2022 at the conclusion of the South Asian Salesian Family Rosary Virtual Animation | South Asian Region. The first copy was offered to Fr. K.J. Rafael, bishop’s secretary. Mr. D.S. Antuvan, World Councilor, Salesian Family saw to the finest details of the release.
The book has 328 pages and costs Rs.250/- Soon copies will be made available in book shops across India.
