Be the Voice to Introduce Jesus

We are getting ready to receive child Jesus in our hearts. Today we are called to partake in the plan of God by preparing the way for Jesus in and around us like John the Baptist.

In the Gospel, we see the Zechariah’s hymn of praise at the birth of John. John is the prophet who came before the Lord to prepare the way and bore witness to the person of Jesus. John became the voice to announce the coming of Jesus, the eternal word. Zechariah speaks of fulfilment of God’s promises “God shows the mercy promised to our ancestors”. God is Faithful by fulfilling every divine promise that He promised through the person of Jesus and through the message of love which he proclaimed.

Today, on this Christmas eve, we are called to be the voice to introduce Jesus. We are invited to announce the tender love, hope and peace of Jesus to everyone without any distinction of caste and colour, especially to those whom Jesus is not known. By the birth of Jesus, we are given the hope of a new tomorrow.

Lord, as I move into Christmas eve, remind me again of your love. You are forever tender towards me. Help me to grow daily in the awareness of your mercy and tenderness, constantly at work in my life.
