Be Pure in Thoughts, Words and Actions

Today we read in the gospel about the transfiguration of the Lord Jesus.

Through the transfiguration, Jesus reveals himself as son of God. Jesus was glorified in the presence of his disciples Peter, John, and James. The transfiguration of Jesus was necessary at that point of time for the disciples to know and clarify any doubts about Jesus as Lord the Saviour.

Today he reveals in glory, as a true Messiah, to help us come to know him fully. We are reminded that we are children of God. Our call is to be transformed into the image of God. We are called to look up to heaven because we belong to heaven and not anywhere else.

Today is the day to remember our failures, shortcomings, and unworthiness. It is an opportunity to renew ourselves to follow Christ faithfully. It is not possible to transform at once to attain complete holiness, but through constant prayers, dedication, and commitment we can achieve and grow into holiness. To become holy ones of Christ, we need to surrender ourselves completely.

Our thoughts, words, and actions must be pure. Once our attitudes are right then we are on our way to heaven, and we can see the glory of God. Let us give up judgmental attitudes and transform ourselves to attain holiness.
