Be Persons of Prayer

Readings: Acts 18: 23-28; Jn 16: 23-28

The liturgy of the day invites us to be persons of love. How can we be persons of love? It is only though prayer. Prayer helps us to have an intimate relationship with Christ. Only through prayer, we get closer with the Father in heaven. Through prayer, God blesses us with the grace of understanding, which helps us to understand other people and their love for us.

So, prayer plays a vital role in our life and helps us to understand the love of God for us. It always connects us with the Father and makes us feel his presence everywhere.

In the first reading Apollos had love and thirst for Christ and became an instrument to carry the good news to other people.

He was one of the exemplary persons who imitated Christ and was a truthful servant. He also had love for others which was revealed in helping people to understand Christ and his love for all. We too are called to be like Apollos and help others out of love.

The gospel reading invites us to be persons of prayer. Prayer helps us to become more courageous and helps us to stand for justice. So, let us be persons of prayer to be one with the Lord.
