Jesus today, through the gospel passage conveys us the real image of God the Father. He narrates the story of a prodigal son and gives us a true image of Abba Father. God has created us with love and from his own image and likeness. He gave us this world and the freedom to choose good and bad. He has made all the things available on this earth without any distinction.

The question is how are we making use of our freedom and our choice? How are we helpful and be approachable for someone’s needs? We have failed to see God’s love and failed to show love to others. But it is not too late to change our attitude. We still have a chance, we still have an opportunity because God the Father will be pleased by us when we repent and turn back to him.

As in the story, father was so happy and celebrated the return of his son, so has our heavenly Father will reward us a place with him when we turn to him with true repented heart. So let us now begin to live our life according to his will. And be merciful to all who repent with a sincere heart.
