Arunachal Christians Pray for New Council of Ministers

Miao: The people in Arunachal Pradesh held candle light prayer rally to pray for the new Council of Ministers of Government of India on 31 May.

Receiving the news of portfolio allocation of the new cabinet ministers of Government of India with enthusiasm, the people in and around Miao in Changlang District of Arunachal Pradesh took out a candle light prayer rally on 31 May, which coincided with the Feast of the Visitation of Mother Mary.

Sending prayerful wishes to the new Council of Ministers, Bishop of George Pallipparambil of Miao Diocese in east Arunachal Pradesh, expressed hope that the new team will work to build a more progressive, inclusive and a peaceful country.

Inaugurating the prayer rally in Miao, Bishop George, the Social Communication Chairman Bishop of North East India said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given us lot of expectation with his message of Sabka Saath, Saba Vikhas and Sabka Vishwas. We hope he with his new team is able to achieve this goal and lead the nation on the path of peace, development and trust of all the people across the country”.

Expressing happiness over the inclusion of Mr. Kiren Rijuju from Arunachal Pradesh to the Council of Ministers, the President of Arunachal Pradesh Catholic Association (APCA), Mr. Taw Tebin said that Mr. Rijuju will represent all our voices in the parliament and as independent Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs he would promote sports talents from North East India, particularly from Arunachal Pradesh.

Mr. Mungtang Mossang, the APCA President of east Arunachal Pradesh too expressed hope in the new team of Ministers. “We hope the promise of acche din becomes a reality during this second term of the Prime Minister with his new team of ministers”, he said. The prayer rally that began from the Sacred Heart Church Neotan came to conclude with the Marian Grotto in the village.
