“Yoga has a lot to offer. In these times of everything instantaneous, Yoga is a great way to manage stress and discover peace”, said Sr. Anima CM, the Headmistress of Newman School Neotan in Changlang district. While explaining the 5th International Yoga Day celebrations to the children, she said the purpose of Yoga is to discover peace within and acknowledge the existence of God in others.

“The world will be a lot better place to live in, if only we are able to channelize our energy within and to respect and love others as they are”, said Sr. Anima before leading the children to the celebrations.

The teachers and students of all the Christian schools showed enthusiasm to be part of the day. “Why should our children be deprived of being a part of an international event”, said Moses Wangsa, a Physical Education teacher.

The Auxiliam School in Namphai 2 in Changalang district had Yoga Day celebrations immediately after the morning assembly and Miss Junem Langching led the children with Common Yoga Protocol provided by the Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani Siddha and Homeopathy, Government of India.
