Guntur (Andhra Pradesh): The Lenten Youth Recollection 2026, organised by the Diocesan Kolping Centre for Youth, was held on Sunday, 1 March 2026, at the Kolping Youth Centre, Vasantharayapuram, Guntur in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Centered on the theme “Return to the Lord with All Your Heart,” the day provided young people a meaningful opportunity to deepen their faith and prepare spiritually for Easter.
Approximately 300 young people from various parishes across the Diocese of Guntur participated. The event commenced at 10:00 AM with a warm reception and registration led by a dedicated team of volunteers.
The spiritual sessions were led by Rev. Fr. Gantela Mariadas, Parish Priest of Valuveru and a renowned Charismatic preacher. His talks focused on repentance, spiritual renewal, and the profound call to personal conversion through God’s mercy. The afternoon featured a powerful session of Eucharistic Adoration and the Sacrament of Confession, offering participants a moment of deep prayer and reconciliation.
Most Rev. Dr. Chinnabathini Bhagyaiah, Bishop of Guntur, arrived at 3:30 PM to a warm welcome from the youth. He served as the main celebrant for the Holy Eucharist at 4:00 PM, concelebrated by several priests of the Diocese. In his homily, the Bishop inspired the youth to renew their commitment to Christ during this sacred season.
The event concluded at 5:30 PM with tea, fellowship, and a photo session to capture the memorable moments of the day. The recollection was meticulously coordinated by Fr. Karunakar Thumma, Director of the Kolping Youth Centre, whose leadership ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the programme.
