Bangalore: Most Rev. Innayya Chinna Addagatla (84), Bishop Emeritus Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh passes away on 1 April 2022 at 11.30pm at the Bishops House, Srikakulam. Funeral details are awaited.
He was the Bishop of Srikakulam (1993-2018) and the Bishop of Nalgonda (1989-1993). He was born 2 May 1937 and ordained priest on 4 January 1965. At the age of 51 on 17 April 1989 he was appointed as the second Bishop of Nalgonda and ordained Bishop on 29 June 1989 at the Maria Rani Cathedral, Nalgonda.
Pope St. John Paul II erected the diocese of Srikakulam bifurcating the Archdiocese of Visakhapatnam on 1 July 1993 and Bishop Innayya was transferred from Nalgonda to Srikakulam. From 1993 to 2018 he was the Bishop of Srikakulam. He was retired from the active episcopal ministry on 12 December, 2018. He is a priest for 57 years and a Bishop for 32 years.
