Allow Jesus to Dwell in You

Readings: Is 40: 1-5,9-11; 2Pet 3: 8-14; Mk 1:1-8

On the second Sunday of advent, the readings invite me to prepare the way for the Lord. The season of Advent is the time to examine our lives despite the busy times. It is a season for me to prepare spiritually and mentally to welcome Christ in my life.

It is a time to make a new path for the Lord to walk with me and allow Christ to dwell in my heart. Liturgically, advent is the beginning of the year. Today, John the Baptist is asking me to receive new Christ and welcome the new life with positive thoughts and energy, and to repent for my sins.

During this advent, I pray that the Lord may help us to get rid of certain habits that are rooted in me and are harming my spiritual and mental growth. I ask our Lord’s pardon and forgiveness for not being sensitive to the growth of others. Therefore, I pray to God to create a pure spirit in me so that Lord Jesus may find his dwelling place in me.
