Bengaluru: In a vibrant display of faith and conviction, Jeevothsava 2026, a flagship pro-life programme organized by the Respect for Life India (RFLI) initiative, unfolded with resounding enthusiasm at St. Rock’s School here today. Drawing students, dignitaries, and advocates, the event underscored the sanctity of human life, offering a beacon of hope in war-torn times.
The morning kicked off at 10:00 AM with a heartfelt welcome by Mrs. Roma Francis and Mr. Isaac Darryl Raj. Mrs. Sharmila Jerome’s prayer song soon enveloped the hall in a serene, spiritual ambiance.
Mrs. Nirmala Prakash, RFLI President, introduced the organization’s mission before presenting mementos to guests. The formal inauguration peaked with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Susainathan, Auxiliary Archbishop of Bangalore, alongside other luminaries, marking a solemn commitment to life’s dignity.
Students from St. Rock’s School captivated all with a graceful prayer dance, blending culture and devotion. Archbishop Susainathan’s inspiring address followed, urging unwavering defense of the vulnerable.
Mr. Isaac Darryl Raj then ignited interaction through a lively questionnaire session, drawing enthusiastic responses from the youth. A standout moment arrived with a poignant skit directed by Rev. Sr. Teresa Mandakath and performed by girls from St. Michael’s Home Convent. Set to Lifehouse’s “Everything,” the production delivered a riveting moral narrative, referencing Ephesians 6:11–18: “Put on the whole armour of God.” Tears and applause rippled through the audience.
Mrs. Amita Braganza deepened the discourse with a compelling pro-life talk and informative study session, equipping participants with knowledge to champion the cause. Dr. Geraldine Sanjay, a forensic doctor and RFLI governing body member, stirred hearts with her rendition of “Child,” a song evoking tenderness for the unborn.
Invited guests enriched the programme with concise speeches, weaving diverse viewpoints into the pro-life tapestry. Rev. Sr. Teresa, RFLI Vice-President, delivered a gracious vote of thanks.
Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado, Archbishop of Bangalore called for steadfast pro-life advocacy across all life stages, especially amid global conflicts. “In these war-struck times, let us be guardians of life,” he proclaimed, leaving the hall profoundly moved.
Attendees also explored a pro-life exhibition, departing inspired to act. Jeevothsava 2026 not only reinforced RFLI’s vital work but also rallied Bengaluru’s Catholic community against a culture of death, fostering hope for a life-affirming future.
