Today’s readings remind us to be humble, trust in God’s justice, and value spirituality over material wealth. They encourage us to reflect on our attitudes toward success and money and to rely on God.
The first reading warns us about the dangers of pride and thinking too highly of ourselves. The prince of Tyre thought he was as powerful as a god, but his arrogance led to his downfall. This teaches us that no matter how successful we are, we should stay humble and remember that we need God’s guidance and wisdom.
In the gospel reading, Jesus explains how hard it is for rich people to enter the kingdom of heaven. It is not because money is bad, but because it can make us rely on ourselves instead of God. The disciples are surprised by this, but Jesus reassures them that with God, anything is possible. He promises that those who give up material things for his sake will be greatly rewarded in heaven.
