In the first reading, we see the good work of Peter and John who were speaking in public and healing people from physical and spiritual disabilities. This gives me an invitation to not step back from proclaiming the Word of God.
The gospel reading tells me to give priority to the work of God. In doing so, I may become a person of integrity, which is to give more importance to listening to him.
In my daily work and profession, I am busy becoming a workaholic which may not allow me to take a break from my work. But taking a break, spending time in prayer, would strengthen me to work for his kingdom which is entrusted to me through duties assigned to me by my superior. When I spend more time in prayer, he nourishes me with much energy to work for his kingdom. In the process of having a busy work life, let me not lose my identity of being a Catholic religious.
Like the disciple who recognized the master of his life let me too draw towards him. Later, Jesus invited the disciple to dine with him, which shows that master is always there to care for them. If I go close to God every single time, he is there to uplift me from my situations, problems, and crises. Thus, the liturgy of the word gives me a message to maintain and deepen my relationship with God by spending time in prayer.
