Readings: Rev 10:8-11; Lk 19:45-48
In today’s reading, Jesus speaks about the importance of prayer in our day-to-day life. The gospel of Luke is also known as the gospel of prayer because we find in this gospel Jesus praying before performing any miracle. Today, Jesus is inviting us to be people of prayer before we start anything new in our lives.
St. Paul in his epistle says to us that we are the temple of God and God’s Spirit dwells in us. When we look at our own body and examine our lives, are we able to say that my body is a temple of God? Do my actions and deeds reflect the presence of Jesus in my body and in my life?
If not, Jesus is inviting us to become people of prayer and living witness to him through our bodies as well as through our souls so that we may become the temple of God in spirit and his Spirit dwell in us. My Jesus, give me the grace today to become part of your temple so that I may be able to praise you throughout my life.
