Accept Him as He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life

The people of Israel became impatient and spoke against God on the way to the promised land. They paid the price for their impatience. And once again they realized their mistakes and pleaded to God for mercy. The merciful and ever-loving God accepted them in forgiveness and continued to lead them to the promised land. Though the chosen people went astray from him, God always remained faithful to them.

The Gospel reminds us that Jesus is the Son of Man to be lifted up on the cross to die for all and to bring life to all. All those who put their trust in him and rely on his grace will be redeemed. His life-giving power is available to all those who fix their gaze on him. If we look at Jesus and listen to his word, imitate his life values and truth, we will find the way to lasting peace and joy.

Today, the Lord Jesus invites each of us to accept and believe him as he is the way, the truth, and the life. Our lifespan in the world is very short but how we cherish and live our ‘now’ has consequences not only for the present moment but also for eternity.
